The front entrance to the library will be inaccessible due to repairs from Tuesday, November 19th through Thursday November 21st. If needed, use back Children's entrance for access. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The lower level of the library is primarily dedicated to the Children’s Room. The Children’s Room is for children ages 0 through junior high. If a child is under 10 they must be accompanied by an adult. We highly encourage anyone ages 13-21 to use our YA area, located on the upper 3rd floor of the library.  Everyone is welcome to browse the collection or look for a book, but seating and computer usage in the Children’s Room is limited to children and their accompanying adults only. Food and drink are permitted, but this stipulation is kept with the agreement that patrons will clean up after themselves and not have food/drink around computers or other easily damageable equipment.

RPL encourages frequent visits by children and their families. However, library staff do not provide child care or assume responsibility for children’s safety. Parents, guardians, teachers and caregivers, not library staff, are responsible for the behavior and safety of children visiting the library. Staff cannot be placed in the position of supervising unattended children.

During children’s programs run by the library, a parent/guardian must be present. Some programs require registration, so please be aware that same day sign-ups will not always be available. We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but we can not guarantee admission. Please be aware that some programs come with the risk of mess. The library is not responsible for any personal items that are damaged with paint or other craft materials. We always attempt to use washable, kid friendly materials to avoid this, however we can not assure  it will always wash off. Please take this into consideration when participating in activities.

In the unfortunate and rare instance when there is an unaccompanied minor who appears to be under the age of 10 and are left unattended at the end of the library day, Revere Police will be called to assist the library staff in locating the child’s parent or guardian. At this time, Revere Police will take jurisdiction over the situation.

Children’s Program Room Code of Conduct:

During times in which the Children’s program room is available for “free play” (times in which the room is not being used for Library appointed activities or events) the room is open to families with small children (infants to elementary age). This is a communal space that can be used by the aforementioned groups, but must be kept clean after use. Parents of children who use the room must understand that the space is needed to be kept orderly and useable for the next families who wish to use the space. We ask that all those who use this space are required to clean up after themselves in a reasonable manner. Failure to do so will result in a loss of privileges of using the room.
